Foxes is made up of Year 3 children and Year 4 children.  This year, we have 21 children in our class.

Our class teacher is Miss Murphy and our teaching assistants are Mrs Blandon and Mrs Hunwick. Mrs Dimmick teaches the class on Wednesday mornings and alternate Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

As the oldest children in the school, we take on responsibilities and jobs to help our school run smoothly.  One of those roles is to look after new children that arrive in the school, especially the new Hedgehogs when they arrive in September. The Hedgehogs are given a ‘buddy’ from Year 4 and sometimes Year 3, who will sit with them at lunchtime and look after them in the playground. We also have House Captains - two for each house - who are role models and leaders of our 4 house teams across the school - and lots of monitor jobs which we enjoy such as choosing the music for worship and welcoming visitors into school.

In the Summer term, our Year 4 children get the opportunity to go to Leeson House near Swanage for a one-night residential trip.  They participate in lots of exciting activities there, enhancing their learning and strengthening relationships before going to middle school. It is definitely a highlight of the year!

The children of Foxes class often get the opportunity to represent the school in various interschool sporting events, for example running and tag rugby, and take part in sports festivals hosted by our local middle schools. We even have a class set of school tracksuits so we look very smart!

As part of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, we learn French.  Mrs Dimmick  takes the class for this and we learn basic conversation and language.

Please continue to support your child by:

  • Hearing your child read or encouraging them to read independently for 10 minutes daily
  • Supporting your child with spellings by practising daily referring to the weekly home learning sheet.
  • Practising times tables (eg. Times Tables Rock Stars 5 minutes each day)
  • Regular use of SumDog for Maths fluency
  • Supporting your child with additional experiences or research about our topics - we would love to hear what you have found out or explored!
  • If you have any questions about your child’s learning, please don’t hesitate to come and see us

Please see below for our  our Meet the Teacher presentation.

Many thanks for your continuing support.
